Resolutions tend to have a negative connotation because for the most part, you’re either giving something up (I’m going to stop drinking and eating carbs!) or you’re taking on something annoying (I’m going to wake up at 4 AM every morning and go to the gym!).

Kanye West, on the other hand, knows how to do a resolution right. For example, in an interview with The New York Times, he said: “I think what Kanye West is going to mean is something similar to what Steve Jobs means. I am undoubtedly, you know, Steve of Internet, downtown, fashion, culture. Period. By a long jump.”

You see? He makes declarative, goal-setting statements rather than eliminating something from his life. We could all really learn something from this.

A Yeezy enthusiast / badass web coder thought so too. The anonymous he or she created a website that generates Kanye West resolutions based off of the wonderfully outrageous things Kanye has proclaimed. It is so fun. I could click and resolve allll day long. I also just like to read things he’s said in short, digestible quotes next to his face in those 2014 glasses.

Call West what you will, but after years of my personal resolutions lightly revolving around self-deprecation (i.e. I need to lose ten pounds! I need to stop running errands looking like a drowned rat!) it’s honestly refreshing to have serious goals to consider, such as, “Writers will turn my flea market of information into a beautiful living space.”

Or you know, “I will be Nike.”

Hell yes I will be. We all will.  Thanks, Kanye.

In 2014, my drug will be “I AM BETTER THAN ALL YOU OTHER MOTHERFUCKERS. KISS MY ASS!” Kanye tested, mother approved!

“In 2014, I will be Shakespeare in the flesh”
    I knew that already, duh!

    Amelia wrote this!

  • My one came up as “I will be Nike”. Why not aim to be a fairly average, over-priced, over designed and under-performing Sports brand? He can have Nike. I will aim higher 🙂
