The Jane Birkin Dress

Seriously — that’s what it’s called. And when the Internet tells me a dress is named after Jane Birkin there is absolutely, positively no other option but to scan for my size, hope for encouraging results, click Add to Cart and see what happens.

In the case of this particular navy blue shift dress by Jacquemus, which is being sold on LN-CC, the world feels like my oyster. I can wear a white turtleneck under it. A sweater or jacket or shirt or all or combinations of the three excluding one over it. I can try my hand with socks or bare legs.

Yeah, I think I’m going to go for it. What say you?

I think I wish we were all skinny asian perfect girls with neverending legs like this model. But we’re not.

Wow victim much? Everyone has things that aren’t suitable for their body type – I mean this girl’s legs aren’t even that long; mine are longer so I couldn’t wear this dress either because it would be too short on me. But I’m not bitching I just accept that it’s not right for me and move on. Whatever you think is the “perfect” body also has its fair share of disadvantages. Jeez.

Though I’m tall, I always wanted to be petite, like a friend of mine, who was teeny and so very cute, like a little porcelain doll. I know the grass always seems greener, but I bet you’re pretty adorable just the way you are:-)
