Local Attraction

I don’t handle the end of “my shows” very well. Between seasons of The O.C. I’d mope around like a despondent hitchhiker, thumbing through channels without purpose. When Friday Night Lights ended I didn’t know if I’d ever feel whole again. And just as I was preparing to assume fetal position at the close of my new favorite brain-decayer, Southern Charm, my friend JP (with equally questionable taste in television) sent me a link that assuaged my anxiety.

Enter Local Attraction, a hilarious pilot series about Tinder dates, Tinder clichés and the awkwardness that ensues. It’s 20 minutes long so you may want to check that your boss is in a meeting or something. Otherwise, enjoy:

…Anyone else feel like this hits eerily close to home? (Not a rhetorical question.)

There’s only two episodes and obviously I’ve watched them both already, so please. Someone. Tell me what to watch next.

Clearly your great tastes aren’t limited to the realm of arm parties and culottes. My heartstrings still tug whenever I hear “California” by Phantom Planet. Also, despite being a lifelong New England resident, I feel a fondness for the phrase “Texas forever.”

    • Amelia Diamond

      People keep telling me that!

      • Erika

IT IS REALLY GOOD! And you’d have 4 seasons to go through before the new seasons starts. Just sayin….

    • Courtney G

      Scandal with Kerry Washington!

  • Not JP, but totally JP

Man that JP sounds like a really hot

  • Ellie Lambert

You should check out the Vogue Original Shorts, Emma Stone recently did one called “A Way In”. It’s so funny, but only 3 minutes long 🙁

    • Amelia Diamond

      She’s my FAVORITE

  • Kari

This webseries is hilarious! I’ve also now watched both episodes and all other work distractions now seem hopelessly inadequate.

    • Amelia Diamond

      same 🙁

  • Alyson

Watch High Maintenance!! “Rachel” (feat. Rachel Comey and Downton Abbey’s Dan Stevens) and “Olivia” are the best.

  • MTV’s “Awkward.” doesn’t suck. and their new series “Faking It” premiered and i definitely will watch… Something about MTV profiling high school outcasts as beautiful model worthy girls is hilarious to watch / entertaining

  • Aubrey Green

Have you watched, “Candidly Nicole”, it’s an AOL online show, most episodes are about 15 minutes. She seems your style. She’s come a long way, don’t you think.

    • Amelia Diamond

      no! will check it out!

      • Aubrey Green

I wrote a whole post about shows I loved that ended…or got cancelled, since that’s just my luck! Watch Pretty Little Liars. (Don’t scoff. Just do it.)

I’m dedicating my Sunday hangover to PLL thanks to you guys.

Love the The O.C. reference. Oh, do I miss that show! And the incredibly cute Seth (and might I add Sandy) Cohen in particular.

  • Samantha

Not a day goes by where I don’t think of Tim Riggins.

You must watch Nashville – the sequins alone are worth the investment.

    • Samantha

…and oh my god the Connie Britton connection – how could I forget?!

      • Amelia Diamond

I think i’m going to be her for halloween

i’ve seen them alll thoughhh! but so good for reruns!

      • I think I dramatically jumped off the couch and onto the floor when “Ja’mie: Private Schoolgirl”

  • Though it may be totally out of the range of what you generally watch, I can’t help but recommend Doctor Who. It’s my favorite show, by far.

    • Amelia Diamond

This is FANTASTIC. Something about Skye reminds me of Hansel from Zoolander.
