Anna Wintour Answers 73 Questions for Vogue Videos

War and Peace! I did not see that coming but I probably should have.

You know what else threw me for a particularly unusual loop? How much Anna Wintour and my husband, Abie, have in common. Case in point: their respective propensities for tennis, a strict alcohol-consumption (or lack thereof) policy, allegiance to Starbucks, a quotidian 5AM start time, unflinching respect for the evolution of Brooklyn, neither can sing — or carry a bag — both enjoy coffee ice cream but hate horoscopes and incidentally, they both have a divine affection for an English sense of humour.

Separately, two things struck me as especially telling about Ms. Wintour: the concept of memories as superlative family heirlooms and home as the ideal vacation destination. Fundamentally, it seems, we, as humans, appreciate the same things and it is very rarely that those thing come wrapped in anything but love, familiarity and comfort.

I love this 73 question series! Amazing, the interviews are very cosy and honest rigth? She is lovely. Simply lovely!

  • I loved this! I genuinely find her fascinating. I think that she gets a lot of shit, but if it was man doing the same thing, no one would care. I mean, Valentino is adored and he’s a total diva!

  • dustUP

It did humanize her, if only by showing her capable of having simple fun. She is not an android anymore in my eyes, but a cyborg.

  • I loved her answer of memories. Those are the best things to hold on to.

    • Certainly. And sometimes, when they are super special, it’s scary when you can only recall certain pieces. I try to recall semi-often my best memories and mental pictures, so that somehow they will just become second nature

      • What a lovely brain exercise! It also helps if you’re like me and save everything. Funny story: since my grandma’s passing, I’ve been going through all of her stuff and she labeled EVERYTHING with a date and its significance. Example: “necklace 1945 given to me by ____ high school boyfriend.” I keep thinking how lucky I am to find all of her thoughts and memories around her house. I kept this in mind as I was tearing my room apart the other night. I was envisioning my grandchildren doing the same to my belongings, and then I came across a custom koozie I had from a bar crawl that said “Courtney AKA baddest bitch” on it. I guess I am not as sophisticated…

This was funny in the silent kind of way. I laughed on the inside (but not on the outside).

  • Vanessa

She seems personable in this video — very different from how she was portrayed in “The September Issue”

  • This is great….truly!

  • I thought the video was very interesting, indeed, especially her hatred of head-to-toe black, though the on-and-off sunnies action was distracting. I couldn’t tell if it was part of the bit or a nervous tendency.

P.S. FYI, followers of TMR! I’m giving away a Louis Vuitton clutch to celebrate my blog’s 1st birthday. Enter here –>

  • I simply adore this video! The random people popping from behind the walls cracks me up

  • I love these series and I really like Anna Wintour!

  • Loved her answers. What will you never, ever wear? “Head to toe black”, amen!

  • Love these interviews!

  • This was a really good one.
I kind of love how she said all the rumours are true. 🙂

  • Mmm beautiful.

    Warm Regards,

  • Definitely gave me a different feeling about her. Glad I got to experience a different side of her even if it was just for 73 questions. I do like her more because she plays tennis. lol!

  • nay

Is it weird that I choked up when she said her children taught her love and her father perseverance? Maybe it’s post NYFW nerves, but I just realized the legend is human after all.

  • Em F

    Very fascinating!
