Today marks the first official day of the last official week of the summer season official. If you’re Leandra, that means you’re squeezing in as many #lovesummerhateeverythingelse Instagrams before it’s too late and maybe pondering how to emotionally and physically brace yourself for the cold-weather blues. If you’re me, you’re a little relieved because you think getting dressed in the summer is hard and nowhere on the summer menu is the intoxicating feeling of being snug as a bug in a rug.
But whether or not you prefer blankets and hot coffee and rosy cheeks and windswept hair to sunglasses and cold brew and ponytails and a balmy glow, a nod to the end of the summer feels appropriate. Maybe it’s the back to school energy solicited by September that makes us pause time for one second and force a last hurrah.
Here are 27 stories we wrote in honor of Endless Summer Month in August that will help you hold on to this ephemeral transition for just a teensy bit longer. NOT TO PRESSURE YOU BUT YOU HAVE SEVEN DAYS SO HOP TO IT.
For matters of the mind
Matters of the heart
Matters of the body (but also heart and mind, ya know?)
Happy end of summer!
