Unlike runways, which often present clothes as fantasy, street style is inherently wearable and therefore often the most immediately gratifying inspiration to come out of fashion week. This season’s batch was so much fun to look at, I’m actually overwhelmed by the sheer number of outfits demanding I approximate them as soon as possible. Ergo, I’m forcing myself to prioritize, and I asked my colleagues to do so with me for moral support. Below are the ensembles we are most eager to recreate with our own wardrobes, though there are plenty more where these came from. Scroll to read why we chose the ones we did, and contribute your own in the comment section after another stroll through Simon Chetrit’s photo reel.

1.Harling (Me)

Even though I love wearing bright colors and clashing patterns most of the time, something happens to me at the beginning of every fall wherein I feel a strong compulsion to dress a little more “classic” — trousers, white T-Shirts, trenches, neutral tones, etc. I’m called to this outfit in particular because it embraces the silhouettes and color palettes that I associate with this autumnal yearning while marrying it with playful twists i.e. the sheen of the coat, the touches of mustard in the pants and the pythons booties. I want to wear the whole g-dang thing.

2.Leandra

I really like transparent raincoats but haven’t quite been able to figure out how to wear them without feeling like a parody of myself or some version of a gimmick, and the way this guy has it set up looks pretty evergreen because of the tailored trousers and sturdy boots. I am also a consistent proponent of the combination of red, white and blue stripes per his shirt, but for whatever reason, seeing this has inspired me to swap in a half-zip for my rendition.

3.Emily

The graphic tee with blazer and some sort of high-waist bottom is a classic ensemble that I have yet to grow tired of seeing. I love this fresh take with a khaki skirt (or are they wide leg pants???) Either way, I love the khaki + off-white combo. I feel like the glasses anchor the look and emulate a sense of self-assurance that I only hope to someday approximate. I recently got these from Poppy Lissiman and am very excited to create put together a  ~*look*~ with them.

4.Haley

I’m not sure why, because they aren’t a particularly new trend, but suddenly I can’t stop thinking about clothing sets. But not flirty crop-top-and-miniskirt type sets: the roomy full-coverage sets. There’s something about it that feels more playful and customizable than a full jumpsuit. This outfit isn’t technically a cream-colored set, but it looks like one, doesn’t it? I love the pop of baby blue around her shoulders, the crisp white hat and shock of shiny black boots. This is color math. It’s the kind of outfit I want to wear all fall.

5.Emma

This ‘fit is the future. Also, I love a fluffy shoe, and any ensemble that includes a hands-free bag situation is for me.

6.Amelia

I will never get over the similar blazer I lost a few years ago. It hurts my heart every day, and I’m not sure why I haven’t replaced it, but this outfit has re-lit a fire under my bottom to find the new version. I like the idea of it being a little oversized and belting it to keep it closed, plus keeping a bare neck underneath. I’m lacking in proper pants like this woman is wearing, so more likely than not, I’d do this belted blazer thing with jeans. But I like the white pumps, which I have, as an addition to keep it from veering too equestrian.

7.Elizabeth

I saw Chrissy Rutherford IRL at the Tibi show and I thought to myself, “Why don’t I own those pants. How do I acquire those pants. Can I ask her if I can have her pants???” I love the pop of yellow against the camel sweater and the standout clash of the patterned bag. I’d add two gold cuffs on my wrists and “do not disturb” tortoiseshell Elvis Costello sunglass.

8.Edith

This one stood out to me because of green, glorious Kelly green — and Rachael Wang has such superb taste. A fresh and Americanized take on the dress + sneakers combo platter! I will be implementing it with Karhus + camp socks.
