Have you heard of the Man Repeller Writers Club? Every month we pose a story idea, you write about it and then send it to us (write@manrepeller.com) with the subject line “MR Writers Club.” We go through all submissions and post the winner on the first Saturday of every month. Ready? Let’s go.

The internet runs through most of our lives like water. Imagining life without it, or actually daring to brave it, might conjure images of crossing the desert on a hot day. And yet, I don’t know a single person who isn’t a little curious to try. In an era where phones have become functional extensions of our hands, where texts and emails rule our communicative lives and anxiety is at an all-time high, a life without the internet holds promise of an almost completely inverted existence.

For this month’s Writers Club, I want you to dip your toe into that world: one without phones, without Google, without Instagram. You can imagine a day without it; write your life story in a parallel universe where it had never been invented; go a week without it and write about how it went– it’s up to you. Just tell us about it in 500 words or less and send it to write [at] manrepeller [dot] com by 12 p.m. EST on Tuesday, August 28th.

See you out there (in the flesh).
