This week I sat down with one of my mentors in my head, Krista Tippett. She is, among other things, the creator and host of the award-winning radio show On Being and spends her life pondering the big questions: Who are we and how do we want to live? She explores a lot of those answers through the lens of faith, but it ain’t your momma’s old-school faith (even though she was raised Southern Baptist). She talks to the most amazing theologians, scientists — yes, scientists! — artists and activists about the core beliefs that shape them and how they, in turn, shape our world.
As a result of two decades-worth of conversations, she has herself collected a ton of wisdom (which is probably why she titled her book “Becoming Wise”). In our conversation, we talk about the difference between religion and spirituality, why we should all be kinder to ourselves and what she would say to Donald Trump if she had the chance.
