Remember in June when I said summer sale season is a marathon not a sprint and the finish line wasn’t even in sight? WELL NOW IT IS VERY MUCH IN SIGHT.
Today marks the official halfway point through the month of August, which means it’s time to gobble up that last protein bar in your fanny pack and get your head in the game as the real discounts start rolling in. Keep in mind quantities are dwindling and stuff is already going fast. I’ve compiled a roundup of the eight best summer sales happening online right now, plus a handful of things I’m eyeing from each of them, in case you want to be twinsies with me come fall (which I fully endorse).
I’ve been eyeing Chloé’s compelling twill crop top since I styled it for my story about how to wear flats to a wedding. I think it would look so great over a one-piece swimsuit with a big-ass necklace and fun sandals. No pants required, obviously, but feel free to roll up a prairie-ready gown with your pool towel because you never know when formalwear will come in handy.
I’ve been thinking about Dolce & Gabbana’s ice cream button down shirt since I saw this photo of Zendaya wearing it while on set during a photo shoot in Capri. Stock is running low though so act fast before the cones start to melt.
Despite being on sale, all of these items are still quite expensive, but here’s what’s so great about seeing the finish line of this marathon: retailers can see it too, and they’re more likely to start slashing prices now that the end of the race is nigh. Keep your eyes peeled and your legs limber.
From the coffers of Reformation’s sale haul, I present you with your entire Labor Day Weekend wardrobe. You’re welcome.
Almost all of these items only have one piece of inventory left in stock. I’m getting anxious just typing this. RUN.
The majority of J.Crew’s sale section is an extra 30% off right now with the code SHOPSALE, which is wonderful except now I’m stressing out about how to get the maximum bang for my buck. I may or may not have already purchased Christmas gifts for my three younger cousins. Five months in advance. That’s how real this just got.
As Amelia pointed out two months ago, the My Theresa sale is so good right now. I need Christopher Kane’s gingham dress (formerly $713, now $285) before summer is over like I need to moisturize my eyebrow skin before bed. In other words, it would just make life a whole lot more enjoyable.
If you’re looking for an affordable dress to wear to the weddings that linger on your calendar this month, I recommend beelining to Topshop’s sale pronto. Fair warning, though: you will undoubtedly pick up a few other items along the way, like a practical raincoat and an impractical silver midi skirt, both of which are practically free.
Now that we’re all warmed up, please tell me what you’re buying and also what variety of carbohydrate you’ll be consuming once this race is over.
