Summer Pants! (Just In Case You Hate Shorts)

Or maybe you have nothing against shorts! You just love pants more.

Humans are so weird. Especially those of us who wait all year long to run around with our legs hanging out from thigh socket to toenail, butt cheeks flapping in the wind or whatever it is they do back there, only to get sick of seeing them all the time by the end of July.

I mean, sorry. That’s not nice. Legs: I’m not sick of you. I just don’t always want to have you out. Sometimes I forget to shave you and I’m one of those people who would rather be a slick seal than anything else, plus I hate when you feel like a cat’s tongue up against my other bare leg. And sometimes my thighs grow ten sizes overnight which makes my shorts evil demons of the underground world. Other times, it’s as simple as the fact that I envision an outfit in pants.

But pants are SO DAMN HOT.

Not! (Always.) Not in this case, at least. Some pants can be gloriously loosey-goosey and floaty and free, ready to catch the summer breeze as you kick your heels up. Don’t forget we’ve still got a loooooot of summer left. Which means that now’s the perfect time to start thinking about your perfect pair of summer pants.

I have a pair of army green high-waisted culotte pants that I got in March that have become a summer staple on the days I can’t bear to wear shorts. They’re so breezy and versatile, probably one of the best articles of clothing I own. I’m only a recent convert to shorts–I hate my thighs and flattering shorts are impossible to find! I’m still mostly at a loss for how to style them, so the giant stack of them I got at the beginning of the summer has been somewhat untouched. Any tips?

I remember seeing this styled on snapchat! Anyway you can do a Facebook Live tutorial — shoutout to the latest monocycle! — on how you tied the tank top in the last look?

    • Amelia Diamond

Yes! It’s easy though. I just tucked, pulled the excess back fabric and tied it a knot! But ask and yeee shall receive

The last look is fire!! I’ve really been down on both shorts & skirts lately, so this story is perfect inspiration for the rest of the summer. So many great posts today, MR <3

Was look at a a pair of high waisted black wide leg pants yesterday…this is def convincing me to buy!! (and could not be more timely!)

AYR has such a great pair, big floaty legs. Cienne does too — both brands featured in this story!

I find loose pants so much more comfortable than shorts during summer! I have about 4 pairs of them, and wear them most of (all) the time. They need to be made of natural materials! Do NOT wear POLIESTER! It’s counterproductive if you can’t feel the summer breeze 😉

      Where did you get yours?

Just took a hot sec to check out the model’s instagram – she is SO COOL, this shoot is amazing, etc.

Hi peoples! So anyone looking at this, I saw that last look and it’s to die for so I went ahead and ordered those pants. Still love them, but if you thought they were beige or white like I did, be aware that they are yellow! Still great/comfortable/flattering pants just not beige hah
    I’m done.

The first three pairs of pants don’t go past a size 8.
