Why Was Lindsay Lohan at Fashion Week?
We’ve asked a lot from you this week, things like: how do editors shoot hoops without their jackets falling off their shoulders, and who are the ATL twins? We cogitated about Cara’s whereabouts, tried to predict hit songs and wondered aloud in regards to our bleeding feet.
But the most important thing we need discuss, and I say this with an excited outdoor voice here: LINDSAY LOHAN WAS AT FASHION WEEK. And not just fashion week… A DINNER FOR PROENZA MOTHERS’ MAIDEN NAMES SCHOULER!!!!
This is major.
Now earlier today we originally asked why she was at this dinner, which I think gave everyone the wrong impression. If anyone is on team LiLo — it’s me. It’s us. We’re fully rooting for her. We grew up with her, and during her darker hours we waited hopefully for her return.
So back to the why. Why was she there? The question was meant to be a funny musing for your Friday brain. Personally, my frontal lobe doesn’t seem to be so strong at answering any other type of hard hitting questions post-Thursday jaunts, so I intended to conspire over things like — Maybe she has a movie coming out that revolves around the world of fashion, wherein Lindsay plays an editrix with superpowers and her co-star is Purple’s Olivier Zahm.
But, as some of you pointed out, why wouldn’t she be there? Perhaps her absence would have been more alarming had she not, in fact, attended.
Lindsay appearing at a dinner for one of fashion’s most respected and sought after brands in conjunction with an equally revered magazine is important for two reasons:
1) It signifies the fact that our girl is, indeed, back.
2) It shows us that this is an industry that looks past people’s indiscretions, their old resumes and track records, beyond bad decisions and or even poor timing.
And that, my friends, is a wonderful thing to consider on this Friday afternoon.
Was it Oprah’s interview who shed a new light on Lohan? Or were people ready for this moment for quite some time?
Lindsay Lohan is undeniably back, and we cannot wait to see what’s next.
(Last question though — there are three more fashion weeks for this season. Think we’ll be seeing her in London, Paris or Milan?)
