London Closets: Cloclo Echavarria Rethinks Monochrome

  • Day 1: My favorite thing about the ready-to-wear brands we work with is that they can be chic and effortless at the same time.

Here I am wearing a silk pant and T-shirt set by Piamita and a Pepa Pombo blazer. These are the Pandora pants, and I buy them every season in every color. My velvet slippers are Charlotte Olympia and my bag is Mola Sasa.

I dress quite monochromatic. I am not a huge fan of wearing prints, so this Mola Sasa clutch is my go-to when I want to brighten things up.

  • Day 2: This was at our first London press day. Both Giovanna and I are wearing Pepa Pombo pants. They look elegant but feel like sweatpants. I paired mine with a cashmere tee by Joseph and leather slippers by Carmelinas.

  • Day 3: During the week and especially for work appointments, I try to avoid wearing jeans. I am always searching for comfortable alternatives that still look formal. I've found that long skirts are perfect for this.

Here I am wearing a skirt that I had made to my measurements when I went to Scotland this summer for a wedding.

I paired it with a tan cashmere sweater by Chloé and my new favorite Carmelinas boots.

I also wear earrings every day. These are by a Colombian brand that focuses on pre-Columbian designs called L.A. Cano.

  • I will be wearing these boots all winter long.
  • Day 4: I love any kind of pajama/loungewear set. I often wear them when I am working from home but then have to run out to a meeting. This one is by Pepa Pombo and I paired it with red velvet slippers by Parisian shoe brand Chatelles.

I am also wearing my favorite fruit hoops by Mercedes Salazar.

  • My bag is by Hunting Season. It's one of my favorites because although it looks small it fits so much! It's like a Mary Poppins bag. The ring is from my mother’s store, Casa Chiqui. It's the perfect statement piece to dress up a casual look.
  • Day 5: This picture was taken at an event we did at the Moda Mews in London. I am wearing a chambray top by Piamita and culottes by Isolda. I am not usually one to wear prints, but I do think the girls from Isolda have a great eye for them.

The earrings are by Mercedes Salazar. I love them because they are big but weigh almost nothing! I always forget I'm wearing them.

  • Day 6: This was on a day trip to Paris for work. I often have to travel to Paris for meetings so I make sure I am wearing comfortable shoes. These boots by Carmelinas have the perfect height, you can wear them day to night.

You’ve met Cloclo Echavarria before — she’s the co-founder of Creo Consulting, a company that represents Latin American fashion designers in New York and London — but you technically met her in New York. In this “episode” of Man Repeller Closets, Cloclo chronicles a week of her outfits on London time (which includes a day trip to Paris while on-the-job) and stretches the limits of what monochromatic means.

For someone who doesn’t love prints, she wears them well; Cloclo does head-to-toe pattern one day, floral culottes the next, and wears a floor-length plaid kilt as an alternative to jeans. Plaid’s more or less a neutral though, right? Deer-print may be, too. Click through — you’ll see!

Check out our Man Repeller feature on Cloclo and her cousin Giovanna Campagna of consulting firm CREO Consulting here. Follow Cloclo and CREO Consulting on Instagram @clocloes and @creoconsulting.
