Who: Calvin Klein
Where: The space that Klein’s team created in their office building at 309 W. 39th Street. It’s large, white, minimal, comfortable and sleek. Nothing less than you should expect from a brand as iconically elegant as the aforementioned.
The Vibe: If the common denominator, a championing facet of this season is wearability, Francisco Costa would have had it in the bag before the collection even debuted. Yes, he’s already marked himself and the brand purveyors of minimalist sophistication (alongside, I would argue, craftsmen like Narciso Rodriguez.) But Costa didn’t rely on the surefire calculations of previous seasons–this collection took a turn for the innovative with an array of sheer organza, exposed under garments, Madonna cone breasts, sleek white pant suits and even the sporadic Bermuda short.
You see, this is the collection that will defeat whatever praise Clueless’ Cher Horowitz gave to the designer and give it new steam.
And…that’s a wrap!
