File this one under things I wish I wrote, because I was doing the LOL in all its out-loud realness. Sometimes my phone autocorrects my meager haha into HAHAHAHA and it makes me really annoyed because I’m usually not laughing that hard. But a recent Huffington Post article produced an all-caps kind of laugh. Comedian Kelly MacLean wrote about her personal struggles within one of my favorite stores ever, Whole Foods.
Every mom on my Facebook newsfeed posted this story. Initially I was like — not clicking that, its mom stuff. But when a hilarious friend of mine began tweeting quotes from the article, I took the plunge and clicked the link.
Here’s where I was hooked:
“Unlike Vegas, Whole Foods’ clientele are all about mindfulness and compassion… until they get to the parking lot. Then it’s war. As I pull up this morning, I see a pregnant lady on the crosswalk holding a baby and groceries. This driver swerves around her and honks. As he speeds off I catch his bumper sticker which says ‘NAMASTE’. Poor lady didn’t even hear him approaching because he was driving a Prius. He crept up on her like a panther.”
The article just gets funnier. And Whole Foods, I still love you.
