It’s starting to seem like if I’m not trying to be my grandpa, I’m too caught up in trying to be my grandma. What is wrong with me?
I came upon the left pictured sling-backs earlier today on Net-a-Porter and initially thought, “Wow! What great shoes.”
Naturally, I had to stop myself mid-thought to wonder what the hell was happening to my perception of that which I dub great. Since when do I advocate for micro-kitten heeled sling backs? Especially of a variety that feature a fenced pearl toe and assloads of glitter. In my own defense, I did originally think the glitter was denim which made the shoes all sorts of Balmain-ish. The thing is, when I learned I was wrong, I actually kind of maybe liked them more. They’d be great with ripped jeans, which is all I wear, or a utility jumpsuit, which I could pull together.
And that’s when the flood gates opened. In clicking through to the full product page, I learned they come in green. They come in pink. There’s a velvet pump version. And I like them all. For heaven’s sake, I like them all.
Is this the result of Saint Laurent’s subconsciously accosting my knowledge of that which constitutes good footwear? Or maybe today is just simply Emmanuelle Alt day on Man Repeller. The woman can do no wrong and she’s been sporting baby heels all fashion month. That’s all I got on my ruminations, though.
How do you fare?
