In My Cart: I Could Buy Some Tassels, or Some Outfits
Something I really like about going to Paris Fashion Week every season is that it usually really streamlines how I want to get dressed. This is partially because seeing other people look cooler than you is humbling, it challenges your own sense of fashion-comfort. Mostly, though, it’s because when you’re feeling stimulated by all the clothes running rampant in every direction your turn but are confined to the contents of a small suitcase, all of the stuff that you left behind at home, safely stowed in your closet, suddenly starts to feel really fresh.
What tends to happen is this: I realize I love my trench coats, that skinny jeans are not, in fact, dead and perhaps most consistently: that nothing tops a striped shirt. Not even a croissant. What doesn’t happen is that I come back wanting to wear assloads of tassels, specifically not in my hair.
Here I am.
Tassel Town, USA.
I caught wind of this one necklace by Isabel Marant on Net-a-Porter and thought, “cool!” But it was quickly overshadowed by a bobby pin that had cascading tassels dangling off of it. These made me feel like my head should always aim to be the center of the party. But as is the case when your brain is functioning like tabs in a browser and you actually happen to be tab-surfing on a de facto web browser, Pixie Market held these possibilities:
+ A dress + $108
+ A top +$112
+ Another Top +$88
+ Another dress +$122
And then determined this, earth to Leandra! HAIR TASSELS!
And that was that.
So…what’s in your cart?
