In case you need an anthem to celebrate America in the non-traditional-Bruce Springsteen sort of way — maybe you’re going to a party and you already know the host is going to be overplaying him, or maybe the invitation said, “Please creatively interpret the 4th of July,” look no further than a trip down memory lane featuring possibly one of the best songs ever to break. it. down. to.

It’s also a really, really useful learning tool when it comes to spelling the word independent…as in, Independence Day. (Which is today if you are just not following along or getting where I’m going with this at all.)

So there you have it. Happy 4th, make sure any hot dogs you eat are thoroughly cooked, and for the love of St. Petersburg, WEAR SUNSCREEN!
