Grool: Isabel Marant Pre-Fall
It is always a point of discussion worth mentioning that Isabel Marant‘s Pre-Fall and Resort look books quietly appear on the Internet at around the same time every season (duh) and make little noise about their presence and the future of how Marant’s zeitgeisty girl will want to dress.
This is likely because her mode of dress doesn’t change very often — a summer festival goer and winter hermit, Isabel Marant’s girl understands the nuances of feeling luxury though not looking like it.
Still, there are a few diversions to acknowledge:
First, a set of ivory snarl-knits that look a little similar to the thick of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s Fall collection for The Row. Then there are the longer coats, one that comes with a hood, that look like bathrobes only warmer. There’s also a nod to her Emmanuelle Alt-popularizied waist belt and a set of shirts — one striped and one plaid — that I will probably buy against better judgement.
And, of course, there are the shoes. The purported new generation of wedge sneakers in the form of an eerily similar silhouette to that of the popular Golden Gooses of months past and the Stan Smiths of fashion weeks now.
Let’s see who holds on for dearest life tightest, shall we?
