On LN-CC

Part of what we here at Man Repeller do if we were actually a we and not just the one man show that is me and part Pete is raise awareness about the brands and boutiques that deserve, you know, awareness. Unsure if whatever sartorial conquests you’re pondering deserve the attention in question? Ask yourself this: are there Siamese horse heads printed on the threads? Does it look like a vagina, act like couture? Would Margiela have designed it? Junya Watanabe? Do the male genitals in a 15 mile radius shrivel at just simply the notion of it? The store itself, hidden deep in the trenches of London is harvested by a 6,000 square foot space comprised of seven different concept rooms that are really fancily decorated, like you’re in some sort of alternate universe where Victoria Beckham is in fact the alien from planet fashion that Patrique speculates. And you never want to leave. Ever. For-ev-or.

It fosters Man Repeller favorites: think Comme des Garcons, Peter Pilotto, Dries van Noten Awesome, Rick Owens, Haider Ackerman…blee bloo bla. What’s more though, the mens clothes cater to our kindred spirits too:think Lanvin, Jil Sander, Ann Demeulemeester. It’s double the content, double the fun. All of this done in a very edited capacity. As in, buyers that rock. It’s the sort of shopping that rids you the first world peril of walking into a place and noticing eighteen different variations of what you’re wearing elsewhere.

And it’s not a pretentious, hostile environment either: their ‘About Us’ ends with a note that reads, we don’t care if you don’t buy anything but we hope you take something away. I don’t think they mean this in the Winona way, more like intangibly taking something for your soul–if that’s not awww–three w’s–inducing, do tell me: what is? What is? What? There’s a reason, you see, that I chose today to shed light on this particular boutique and that is because a big perk awaits you. While browsing the site earlier this week I noticed a tab that read ‘giveaway.’ The Jew in me, of course, led me to click this tab and it was there I learned that an annual giveaway had re-commenced. This isn’t just any plain old giveaway though: LN-CC is offering someone a three-night stay in London from anywhere in the world along with a 15,000 GBP–this translates to roughly 500,000,000 USD–spending allowance at the store.
