Oh yeah, I said it. I meant it. I’ll be honest, I don’t typically like to let other people style me because, you know, half my business is about how I style myself and proverbially you too, readers. But when Barney’s acted as a broker for the biggest and best deal of the century: hey Man Repeller, Prabal wants to dress you, I thought to myself: who needs harem pants when you can have slim fit black fancy pants. If only because they most literally are fancy pants. There are, after all, multiple tiers of feathers in his chic, fluid collections and as I mentioned during the NYFW recap highlighting his show, Prabal Gurung has the most special ability to make women feel powerful. And who doesn’t want that? The particular collection shown (F/W 2011) below was inspired by Charles Dickens’ Ms. Havisham. She’d gone cookoo when left at the altar and it was then that her personality and evidently true style unveiled itself. You know the age old story, misery yields wild success. This then got me thinking, maybe I should get married. But that’s a task for another time, back to right now, or then. When I got to Barney’s on this sweet summer morning, I had the most magical a-ha moment of my thus far short lived career. He reads my blog everyday.
…are you in love? I am.
