One Last Look at Paris Fashion Week

...Through Scott Schuman's lens. Even outside the confines of Fashion Week, I often make pretty heavy use of Style.com Fashion Show photos so I'm speculating street style recaps are likely more interesting to the turban clad eye. Turban clad eye, imagine that.

Maybe I'm wrong. You tell me what you want to see and I will deliver.

In any case, here are a few of the photos that tugged at my sexy little heart strings while perusing the pages of The Sartorialist. While some runway photos are documented, the details he captures on the are far more elaborate than average show photo. So without further adieu, go on now and get inspired.
Even beyond the wool bathrobe, note this beauty's cropped sweater and buttoned up oxford. I do believe that is the most unusual turban tying I've ever seen. Here's to never needing nuvaring.
...Ever. I do believe this is my favorite look.
Remember the Paris Fashion Week re-cap last week? Her details were chronicled. Here's what she looks like above the arm spikes and plaid...more spikes to the head! And some seriously sick Karen Walker sunnies. Honk if you love cat-eyeviators. I made that one up myself!
Fur neckbrace chic. And you can't see it now, but her shoes are split hooved...so Margiela-chic.
Not Man Repelling per se, or to take it a step further: by any means at all, but this trench dress is everything. One thought in one word though: pneumonia.
This one will be called: The Color of Friendship. Because there are big ships and small ships, but my favorite ships are...PRADA. What do you think they're talking about? Let's take bets. I'm guessing nunchucks as the latest and greatest in jewelry that resembles violent weaponry.
And this, ladies and penguins, this is the man of my dreams. Hamish Bowles. Aqua socks. Call me!
Hamish sitting at the shows is a nice segue into the actual shows, and so now, the shows:
Haider Ackerman takes a cue from NASA
And Celine wasn't very far off the same sentiment.
Hermes embraced their equestrian roots with chin straps
And Valentino was all about decorating the female body with blocks of mink.
Sonia Rykiel proved that they're experts in the field of sartorial bartending
And Mugler so clearly designed with Lady Gaga in mind. Do you think the model was told it was important she kept her hands in stiff formation?
And finally:
Not from Paris Fashion Week, but wildly important. A blue feathered towel at Pucci. Can you dance The Cobalt Swan?

The End

  16. What's to complain about here? It's all fab stuff! Surprised Scott Schumann let you reproduce his photos - he must have a sense of humour that he doesn't let on about in his blog.

And Hamish Bowles - his pose is so lady-like he is the only man I would allow to wear a dress.

  21. I absolutely love you're commentary! It's so refreshingly funny. But you're right, every Man Repeller could use a towel/dress that looks to be the spawn of Big Bird and the Cookie Monster.

  25. As always, marvelous postingQ!

Is it strange that, while I did enjoy all of the post, I mainly spent my time reading it wishing I had the exact outfit Hamish Bowles is wearing. Well mainly the socks, shoes, glasses (are they still BCGs if they're necessary/on a guy?), and hankie. And I'm a fifteen year old girl. I like to think it's great.

  31. You are HI-larious! This is my first time to your blog. I heard about it at the Texas Style Council Conference this past weekend. Don't be hurt- I'm not a blogger (they ALL knew about you). I'm a jewelry designer (some of the man-repelling kind...some, not). Anyway- my fav was "the color of friendship" and I think they might have been discussing the one girl's nipples.

  32. I'm with you Man Repeller. Those aqua socks on Hamish are hot.

    ReplyDelete
  33. The socks are okay, but wow, the rest of that outfit. I just want to touch the fabric on that suit. :squeals with glee: I want with all my heart and soul to be a man just so I can wear those clothes (I love menswear far, far more than any women's clothing).

:ahem: Or I should say, I can see why you're in love with him.
