Emerging Trends on The Streets in Paris

Tommy Ton does it again. Paris Fashion Week kicked off just two days ago and in that time, the man behind the magic lens has already captured a generous slew of man repelling genius. French street style suggests hints at a handful of different emerging trends, all of which that lead toward one single cause. And that is, material for this blog. Let's discuss.
A committed combination of neon shoes x socks and sandals.
I spy green Miu Mius. And a really high pop leg from the babe in cerulean blue.
Marni platforms and St. Patty socks. This one is particularly helpful as the holiday it is a'comin.
Poor ankles, it's worth it. But it must addressed: how do shoes like this make it through airport security?
...Just while we're talking airport security protocol. On another note though, this is a special look. Bad-ass wrists interjected by feminine pearls across the neck, a hipster flair to the flannel blanket, a Letterman jacket to represent the entire east coast. But most importantly, smoking is bad for you, trend machine.
Here's one creeping out a little from last Spring, a little from Chistopher Kane's early days: safety pins be on our skins. These looks make for stellar DIY projects
In the fur department, Lady Baba surprises no one when she appears at Paris Fashion Week, bike in tact, protecting her head and neck from the harsh weather. PETAs not as big over there.
Taking a cue from Milan Fashion Week, show-goers at Paris Fashion Week take inspiration from Sesame Street. Nothing is quite as attractive as drenching your female chest in fur. Hairy chest win.
 Eureka! More colorful fur.
Not fur per se, but it is green hair. Green ombre, that's nifty.
And back to the fur, this makes for a great Fall Prada DIY. It's Cookie Monster chic. And you know a few googly eyes would just be icing atop this proverbial cupcake.
On a similar neon note...
Hola Anna! As you can see, Michael Jackson is still very much alive.
Oh hey cool! A car that comes with a woman waving her iPhone out its window! Where can I sign up?
And finally, among my favorite of the trends to present themselves this week...
Kitschy clutches! Did you ever play the violin? Did you ever want to play the violin? Make your dream come true all while having a place to store your mobile possessions.
Do you see what I see? Colorful telephone chords!
World shipping? Break me off a piece of that. I call this one, FedEx chic.
Ultimately, I can't be funny all the time. Sometimes it just doesn't happen for me. I'm only human. Psych, I'm dancer. In any case though, I do really want plastic star adorned beaded friendship bracelets.

Okay...bye!!!

  1. telephone cord purses were huge in the late 60s; i have a rather tame navy and white one, but while antiquing, frequently see bright reds and yellows and greens.

    great shots!

  62. I just discovered your blog and I absolutely adore it (and you!!!) While reading your latest posts I realized that you may have somehow influenced the outfit I wore last night. I don't really think of myself as a "Man Repeller" but last night I wore a leopard print, very wide legged, drop crotch jumpsuit. I'm pretty sure that if I was single and out to get some, I would have been completely unsuccessful.

  63. i love all of the pictures!

so, i'm doing the Edinburgh Charity Fashion Show 2011, and did some styling for the shoot (it's on my blog) it would mean a lot to me if you could tell me what you think as i am a big fan of your blog.

this would just be me dreaming but, if you could actually come to the fashion show on the 18th this month everyone would freakkkkkkk out! BIG FAN OF YOUR WORK! KEEP IT UP! xxxxxxx
